Pediatric Vaccinator Covid - Temporary

Description of Duties
This is a professional medical provider position working for Monroe County government and is responsible for providing COVID-19 vaccinations to children from five (5) to eleven (11) years old at COVID-19 vaccination Points of Dispensing (POD) remote sites. Duties involve, but are not limited to documenting and administering vaccines/injections, performing laboratory work, cleaning and stocking exam rooms, conferring with nurse managers, assessing client status, and analyzing and interpreting information for intervention. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of a higher-level staff member. Does related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Possession of a valid New York State license* as a Registered Pharmacist, Medical Doctor, Nurse Practitioner, Physician's Assistant, Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse or a certificate as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic AND;
2. Basic Life Support (BLS) Training provided by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross, or any other approved provider** AND;
3. One (1) year paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience administering pediatric vaccinations.
*Must present copy of license or certificate at the time of application.
**Must present copy of the BLS Provider Course Completion Card (valid for 2 years) at the time of application.
Preferred qualifications:
- Previous triage experience
- Utilization of medical equipment in an assigned area
- Experience working with Electronic Medical Records
- Effective oral and written communication
**Must provide documentation of being fully vaccinated for COVID**
