Description of Duties
This is a programmatic position that creates, develops, and implements special programming specific to the population in a long-term care setting at Monroe Community Hospital. Duties involve providing education and rehabilitation to hospital residents of any age. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of the Director of Resident Programs and Lifestyle Services or other higher level staff member. Does related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus EITHER:
(A) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Master’s degree in Education, Occupational Therapy, Vocational Rehabilitation, Psychology or a closely related field; OR,
(B) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in one of the fields mentioned in (A) above plus one (1) year paid full-time or its part-time equivalent professional** experience in program development in an education, vocational rehabilitation, or occupational therapy field; OR,
(C) An equivalent combination of education and experience defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.
**Professional experience, for the purposes of these minimum qualifications, does not include clerical, secretarial or similar experience.
