Description of Duties
This position, located in a fire district, is responsible for overseeing and directing firefighting and emergency response activities involving the protection of life and property during a shift and during the absence of a Fire Captain or Fire Chief. Work is performed in accordance with the policies and objectives outlined by the Board of Fire Commissioners and/or Fire Chief. This position differs from Firefighters by virtue of its performance of directing activities of staff during a shift. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of the Fire Captain, Fire Chief, or other higher level staff member. Lead supervision is exercised over Firefighters and Laborers.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must be permanently employed in the competitive class at the Laurelton Fire District and must have served continuously on a permanent basis for thirty-six (36) months holding the position of Firefighter immediately preceding the date of the written test.
