Description of Duties
This is a first line supervisory law enforcement position in the Monroe County Sheriff's Office responsible for maintaining order, security, and decorum in the Appellate Court, Hall of Justice, Public Safety Building, and in the courtrooms during trials. Duties include the supervision of Deputy Sheriffs-Court Security while protecting judges, juries, courtroom participants, the general public and property in public buildings. Work may be performed on various shifts. The employee reports directly to and works under the general supervision of the Deputy Sheriff Court Security Lieutenant.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must be permanently employed in the competitive class at the Monroe County Office of the Sheriff and must have served continuously on a permanent basis for thirty-six (36) months holding the position of Deputy Sheriff - Court Security immediately preceding the date of the written test.
