Network Technician

Description of Duties
This is an entry-level technical position involving responsibility for the installation, operation and repair of user equipment
that comprises part of the telecommunications network such as microprocessors, computer terminals, printers and
modems. The employee reports directly to and works under the general supervision of a senior staff member; employees
travel to various departments that are on-line to service computer equipment. Supervision of others is not a responsibility
of this class.
Minimum Qualifications
BOCES #1, Brockport Central School District:
Candidates must be permanently employed in the non-competitive class at BOCES #1 or the Brockport Central School District and must have served continuously on a permanent basis for twenty-four (24) months holding the position of Microcomputer Maintenance Technician immediately preceding the date of the written test.
Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District, Rochester City School District:
Candidates must be permanently employed in the competitive class at the Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District or the Rochester City School District and must have served continuously on a permanent basis for twelve (12) months holding the position of Help Desk Assistant immediately preceding the date of the written test.
A combination of time served in multiple titles sufficient to meet the maximum period of required service is also qualifying.
