Description of Duties
This attorney position is responsible for assisting school district administrative staff by providing legal representation and advice on establishing policies and procedures regarding special education including, but not limited to, Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), manifestation determinations, annual reviews, student placement, transportation and services. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of a School Attorney or other higher- level staff member.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State recognized Law School and admission to practice as an attorney before the courts of New York State, PLUS five (5) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience practicing law relating to education or special education.
