Description of Duties

This position in an Information Services Department or section is the highest level position in the Programmer Analyst
hierarchy. This is a customer service position responsible for analyzing business procedures and implementing
application solutions that involves developing or purchasing appropriate systems. This position differs from the lower,
Programmer Analyst II, in that work is more administrative and project oriented. The employee reports directly to and
works under the general supervision of the Project Coordinator. General supervision may be exercised over project
teams.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements on or before the date of the written exam:
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus EITHER:

(A) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associate's degree in an Information Technology field plus three (3) years paid full time or its part-time equivalent* experience (co-op is acceptable) as a computer programmer, systems analyst or computer operator; OR,,

(B) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor's degree in an Information Technology field plus one (1) year of experience as defined in (A) above; OR,

(C) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor's degree, plus two (2) years of paid full-time or its part-time equivalent* experience (co-op is acceptable) as a computer programmer, systems analyst or computer operator; OR,

(D) An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B) and (C) above.
