Description of Duties
This is an entry level professional public health nursing position involving responsibility for assessing health needs and developing a plan of care for individuals and families. This position is distinguished from the Assistant Supervising Public Health Nurse position by its responsibility for the initial implementation of nursing care plans and provision of direct nursing care. The incumbent is also responsible for periodic re evaluation of individual and family nursing needs. This employee works under general supervision from, and reports directly to, a Supervising Public Health Nurse. Direct supervision is exercised over the work of Registered Professional Nurses and staff assigned to carry out the plans of care.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered four (4) year college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
Special Requirements:
Possession of a New York State Registered Professional Nurse's license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State. Candidates will be required to submit a copy of such license at time of appointment.
