Description of Duties
This position at the Monroe Community Hospital, is responsible for assisting in the formulation and organization of a program of internal safety, security and fire prevention, patrolling hospital buildings and grounds and conducting investigations. The employee reports directly to and works under the general supervision of the Supervisor of Safety and Security or other higher level staff member. Lead supervision in exercised over guards.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements on or before the date of the written exam:
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus EITHER:
(A) Four (4) years paid full‑time or its part‑time equivalent* experience as a police officer or plant or building security worker; OR,
(B) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associates Degree PLUS two (2) years paid full time or its part-time equivalent* experience as defined in A above; OR,
(C) An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined within the limits of (A) and (B) above.
Special Requirements:
Registration as a Security Guard with the New York State Department of State.
