Description of Duties
This position, located at the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), is responsible for providing Officer Wellness program services to staff that are aimed at promoting and preserving emotional health. Duties involve working closely with sworn staff in the Jail, Police, Court, Civil and Staff Services bureaus in order to implement officer wellness clinical services and programming. This includes working in the field when responding to crime and incident scenes. Duties also involve providing the same services to civilian staff. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of the Director of Inmate Drug and Alcohol Treatment Programs or other higher-level staff member. Does related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma plus EITHER:
(A) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Master’s degree in Social Work or a mental health counseling, clinical mental health counseling, or psychology field plus three (3) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience providing direct client mental health counseling services involving individual or group therapy; OR,
(B) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in one of the fields mentioned in (A) above plus four (4) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience providing direct client mental health counseling services involving individual or group therapy; OR,
(C) An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.
