Project Monitor

Description of Duties
This position is responsible for project monitoring and assisting with project planning and measurement. Duties also involve aiding with the communication aspects of a department or agency such as preparing messaging to the public, responding to inquiries, and enhancing communication with stakeholders. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of a higher-level staff member.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements on or before the date of the written exam:
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma plus EITHER:
- Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associate’s degree plus two (2) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent* experience in project management, project monitoring, project evaluation, emergency services, or conducting communication activities ALL of which must have been located at a government agency; OR,
- Four (4) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent* experience as described in (A) above; OR,
- An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.
Special Requirements:
If you are appointed you will be required to have a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State or otherwise demonstrate your capacity to meet the transportation needs of the position.
Candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment drug test for employment with Monroe County Government.
