Description of Duties

This is a senior-level professional nursing position responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring nursing education and orientation programs at Monroe Community Hospital.  Responsibility also involves directing the facility’s wound care program. This classification differs from the lower, Clinical Instructor in its responsibility for staff supervision and expanded scope. Work is conducted in accordance with mandatory education requirements and current nursing practices.  The employee reports directly to and works under the general supervision of an administrative-level staff member.  General supervision is exercised over a subordinate staff.  Does related work as required.


Minimum Qualifications


(A) Five (5) years paid full time or its part time equivalent experience as a Registered Professional Nurse, one (1) year of which must have involved nursing education; OR,

(B) Five (5) years paid full time or its part time equivalent experience responsible for developing and conducting nursing education programs;

(C) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, plus one (1) year paid full time or its part time equivalent experience in nursing education; OR,

(D) Any equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B) and (C) above.


Possession of a New York State license as a Registered Professional Nurse at the time of appointment.

A candidate needs to have received their primary COVID-19 vaccination series.
