Description of Duties

This is a clerical position in a Town Assessment Office responsible for providing clerical support to, and acting in the absence of, the Assessment Clerk. Work involves assisting in the reporting, record keeping, communicating and other functions related to real property assessment.  Work involves working with the general public at the department counter. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of, the Assessment Clerk.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma plus EITHER:
 
(A) Two (2) years paid full-time or its part-time* office clerical experience, at least six (6) months of which must been in an assessment or taxation setting; OR,
 
(B) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associate’s degree plus one (1) year of experience as listed in (A) above, at least six (6) months of which must have been in an assessment or taxation setting; OR,
 
(C) Any equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.
