Toxicology Laboratory Supervisor

Description of Duties
This is a supervisory technical position in the Department of Health, Medical Examiner's Office responsible for performing advanced analysis to identify and quantitative toxic substances in post mortem tissues. Work involves close association with the Chief Toxicologist to determine laboratory workload scheduling, priorities, and job assignments. Duties further involve responsibility for the operation of the laboratory in the Chief Toxicologist's absence and testifying in court when needed regarding laboratory procedures. The employee reports directly to and works under general supervision from the Chief Toxicologist. General supervision is exercised over a staff of subordinate personnel.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must be permanently employed in the competitive class in the Monroe County Department of Public Health and must have served continuously on a permanent basis for twelve (12) months holding the position of Toxicologist I immediately preceding the date of the written test.
