Description of Duties
This is an important technical position in a public utility in which the incumbent is responsible for overseeing the daily work activities of the meter section. The incumbent is responsible for the maintenance and repair of electric meters as well as supervising the work schedule of Meter Testers. The incumbent exercises lead supervision over Meter Repairers and Meter Readers. General supervision is received from the Superintendent Electric Operations.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma plus three (3) years paid full‑time or its part‑time equivalent* experience as a journeyman assistant in field service employment such as meter repair or meter reading.
Special Requirements:
Possession of a valid Class 5 operator's license issued by the State of New York at time of appointment.
