Description of Duties

The Monroe County Law Department is seeking Family Court attorneys in its Children’s Services Division and Child Support Enforcement Division.  The position in the Children’s Services Division provides legal representation for the Department of Human Services in all child welfare matters. The position in the Child Support Enforcement Division advocates for the Monroe County Child Support Enforcement Unit in child support proceedings.  The employee(s) works under the general supervision of the County Attorney and/or one or more senior level Deputy County Attorneys.

Minimum Qualifications

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

1.    The attorney(s) must be duly licensed to practice law in the State of New York.

2.    The ideal candidate(s) will have at least one to three (1-3) years of experience in handling family court matters involving child welfare and/or child support issues.

3.    The attorneys(s) must have the ability to work well with judges, lawyers, court administrators, and other individuals within the court system.
