Description of Duties
This is a management position in the Department of Public Health responsible for implementing special children’s services activities and programs for infants and preschoolers in need of special education services in Monroe County. Work is conducted in accordance with rules, regulations and guidelines promulgated by the New York State Education Department. General supervision is exercised over the administrative function of special children’s services such as financing, auditing and human resources. The employee reports directly to and works under the general supervision of a management level employee with wide latitude allowed for the exercise of independent judgment. General supervision is exercised over a subordinate staff.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must be permanently employed in the competitive class in the Monroe County Department of Public Health and must have served continuously on a permanent basis for twelve (12) months holding the position of Associate Public Health Representative or Special Children’s Service Coordinator immediately preceding the date of the written test.
