Description of Duties
This position, in the Department of Environmental Services, is responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of sewer collection control facilities which include pump stations, tunnel control structures, interceptors and siphons for sewage flows up to ten (10) million gallons per day. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of the Assistant Sewer Collection Supervisor or other higher-level staff member. General supervision may be exercised over lower-level employees.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must be permanently employed at the Monroe County Department of Environmental Services and must have served continuously on a permanent basis for twelve (12) months holding the competitive class title of Senior Pure Waters Technician or twenty-four (24) months holding the title of Pure Waters Technician or twenty-four (24) months holding the non-competitive class titles of Water Resource Recovery Assistant, Maintenance Technician/Operator or Motor Equipment Operator immediately preceding the date of the written test.
