Assistant Sewer Collection Supervisor

Description of Duties
This position in the Department of Environmental Services involves the operation and maintenance of sewer collection systems. Supervising responsibilities include the operation, inspection, preventative maintenance, and repair of the laterals and pipes of a sewage collection system. Employees may be required to work in all kinds of weather conditions and may be called for emergency situations twenty four (24) hours a day & seven (7) days a week. The employee reports directly to and works under general supervision of the Sewer Collection Supervisor or Sewer Maintenance & Construction Coordinator with leeway allowed to exercise independent judgment in planning work details. General supervision is exercised over operations and maintenance crews.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must be permanently employed at the Monroe County Department of Environmental Services and must have served continuously on a permanent basis for twelve (12) months holding the competitive title of Junior Engineer - Pure Waters, Process Operator or Senior Maintenance Technician/Operator OR twenty-four (24) months holding the non-competitive title of Maintenance Technician/Operator immediately preceding the date of the written test.
