Station Mechanic - Instrumentation

Description of Duties
This is a technical position, located at the Department of Environmental Services, responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, repair, modification and redesign of process equipment and control and data acquisition systems located in a wastewater treatment plant and collection system as well as the proper maintenance and upkeep of buildings and facilities instrumentation equipment. Duties include procuring equipment, coordinating and scheduling activities with other department units, and documenting projects and work orders upon completion. Work is performed in accordance with department and industrial standards. The employee must respond to emergencies, work under a variety of schedules and conditions including all types of weather and various heights and spaces (such as cramped spaces) and move items weighing up to approximately eighty (80) pounds. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of a Senior Station Mechanic-Instrumentation, Principal Station Mechanic-Electrical and Instrumentation or other higher level staff member. The employee provides lead (working) supervision of crews in the field.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must be permanently employed in the non-competitive class at the Monroe County Department of Environmental Services and must have served continuously on a permanent basis for twenty-four (24) months holding the position of Maintenance Mechanic I, Maintenance Mechanic II or Environmental Facilities Mechanic immediately preceding the date of the written test.
