Description of Duties

This is a technical electrical maintenance position, located at the Department of Environmental Services, responsible for performing electrical maintenance work in a wastewater treatment plant and wastewater collection systems as the proper maintenance and upkeep of building and facilities electrical equipment. Duties involve predictive and preventive maintenance activities on electrical distribution equipment. Work is performed in accordance with department and industrial standards. The employee responds to emergencies, works under a variety of schedules and conditions including all types of weather and various heights and spaces (such as cramped spaces), and moves items weighing up to approximately eighty (80) pounds. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of   a Senior Station Mechanic-Electrical or other higher level staff member. The employee performs lead (working) supervision of crews in the field. 

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must be permanently employed in the non-competitive class at Monroe County Department of Environmental Services and must have served continuously on a permanent basis for twenty-four (24) months holding the position of Maintenance Mechanic I, Maintenance Mechanic II or Environmental Facilities Mechanic immediately preceding the date of the written test.
