Deputy Sheriff Court Security - Lieutenant

Description of Duties
This is a supervisory law enforcement position in the Monroe County Sheriff's Office responsible for maintaining order, security, and decorum in the Appellate Court, Hall of Justice, Public Safety Building, and in the courtrooms during trials. Duties include assisting the Court Security Bureau Chief with the administration of the Court Security Unit. This position differs from that of Deputy Sheriff-Court Security Sergeant by virtue of its expanded scope and increased level of responsibility. The employee reports directly to and works under the general supervision from the Court Security Bureau Chief. General supervision is exercised over Deputy Sheriffs Court Security Sergeants. May be assigned to various work shifts.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must be permanently employed in the competitive class in the Monroe County Office of the Sheriff and must have served continuously on a permanent basis for twenty-four (24) months holding the position of Deputy Sheriff Court Security - Sergeant immediately preceding the date of the written test.
