Chief Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator - Type A Plant

Description of Duties
This is a supervisory technical position responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of a Type A Wastewater Treatment Plant with facilities for the activated sludge process (including all modifications). The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of a Commissioner of Public Works or other higher level staff member with wide leeway allowed for planning work methods and dealing with emergency conditions. General supervision is exercised over Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators, Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Trainees, and laboratory and mechanical staff.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must be permanently employed in the competitive class at the Town of Webster and must have served continuously on a permanent basis for twenty-four (24) months holding the position Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator immediately preceding the date of the written test.
