Description of Duties
This is a supervisory professional nursing position responsible for developing and ensuring the provision of nursing services, and supervising nursing practices to assure safe, effective and efficient, comprehensive nursing care in homes, clinics, and other community facilities. This position differs from the lower, Public Health Nurse by its responsibility for program coordination and monitoring, as well as administrative responsibilities such as staff development. The employee reports directly to and works under the general supervision of an administrative level staff member. General supervision is exercised over public health care professionals and nursing staff.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must be permanently employed at the Monroe County Department of Public Health and must have served continuously in the competitive class for twenty-four (24) months as a Public Health Nurse or in the non-competitive class for twenty-four (24) months as a of Registered Nurse immediately preceding the date of the written test.
