Description of Duties
This is a staff position responsible for providing information to interested parties through written news releases, publications and verbal responses to inquiries and the media. Duties involve overseeing the preparation of a variety of material including press releases, brochures, newsletters, and speeches and responds verbally to questions about programs and policies. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of, a department or agency head.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelors degree in Communications or Political Science plus three (3) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent* experience in communications and constituent services in a government agency.
