Deputy Sheriff Road Patrol - Sergeant

Description of Duties
This is a first-line supervisory law enforcement position located in the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. Duties include directing the field activities of uniformed and plainclothes Deputies including transmission of orders, training of staff, and evaluation of field performance. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of a Deputy Sheriff Road Patrol Lieutenant or other higher level staff member. General supervision is exercised over Deputy Sheriffs Road Patrol.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must be permanently employed in the competitive class at the Monroe County Office of the Sheriff and must have served continuously on a permanent basis for six (6) months holding the position of Deputy Sheriff Investigator or thirty-six (36) months holding the position of Deputy Sheriff Road Patrol immediately preceding the date of the written test.
