Description of Duties
This is a paraprofessional position responsible for assisting probation officers in a local probation agency in selected tasks related to the various processes of probation service. The employee may perform a variety of tasks including data collection and verification. This employee works under direct supervision from, and reports directly to a higher-ranking employee. Supervision of others is not a responsibility of this class.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements on or before the date of the written exam:
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma plus two (2) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent** experience in a clerical or para-professional position in a probation agency or other criminal justice agency*.
*College level training may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the experience described.
*Criminal justice agencies are defined as, but not limited to, police, parole, public defender, district attorney, or probation agencies.
