Description of Duties

This is a professional business management position responsible for supervision and performance of a wide variety of business affairs in a school district having a pupil population less than 2,000. The employee performs or oversees budgeting, purchasing, accounting, and reporting. Activities are carried out in accordance with school district policies. General supervision is exercised over the business office staff.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements on or before the date of the written exam:
EITHER:

(A) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor's degree including or supplemented by twenty-four (24) semester credit hours in Accounting, Business Education, or Business Administration and three (3) years of paid full-time or its part-time equivalent* business administration experience including accounting and budgeting, one (1) year of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity; OR,

(B) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered community college with an Associate's degree in Accounting or Business Administration and five (5) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent* business administration experience including accounting and budgeting, two (2) years of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity; OR,

(C) An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A), and (B).
