Description of Duties
This is a professional engineering position responsible for a particular civil engineering function, program or project. Work may involve areas of traffic engineering, highway or bridge design or construction, water or sewage systems design, construction or treatment, environmental engineering, or other civil engineering fields. The employee reports directly to and works under general supervision from senior-level engineering staff. Supervision may be exercised over a staff of junior engineers or engineering aides.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must be permanently employed in the competitive class at the Monroe County Department of Transportation and must have served continuously on a permanent basis for twelve (12) months holding the position of Principal Engineering Aide immediately preceding the date of the written test.
