Description of Duties
This is an engineering position responsible for overseeing and coordinating construction projects. The Construction
Engineer works with project engineers, resident engineers, inspectors, and contractors to review facilities for conformance
with specifications and established standards, resolve disputes, coordinate projects with other construction ventures and
approve cost estimates or payment requests. This position regularly requires field work at construction job sites. The
employee reports directly to and works under general supervision of a higher level engineering staff member with
considerable leeway allowed for the exercise of independent judgment and the application of professional engineering
standards General supervision is exercised over a subordinate professional and technical staff.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must be permanently employed in the competitive class at the Monroe County Water Authority and must have served continuously on a permanent basis for twelve (12) months holding the position Project Engineer – Water Distribution immediately preceding the date of the written test.
