Description of Duties

This position is responsible for directing and supervising school district safety and security functions. The duties involve
evaluating, developing, and monitoring programs, practices, measures and procedures as well as staff training. The
employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of an administrator with wide leeway allowed for the
exercise of independent judgment. General supervision is exercised over a subordinate security staff.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma plus graduation from a regionally accredited or New
York State registered college or university with a Master’s degree plus five (5) years paid full-time or its part-time
equivalent* experience in an organized police department in the State of New York in the rank of Captain or above, two
(2) years of which must have involved liaison work with school districts regarding security issues.
