Description of Duties

This is a supervisory position located at the Monroe County Department of Aviation, Greater Rochester International Airport,
responsible for the safe and orderly movement of passengers and aircraft through the airport environment, and for supervising
and participating in the routine operation, repair, and maintenance of physical facilities. Work is performed in close
cooperation with other airport units to provide overall service to tenants, pilots and the public. This position is distinguished
from Senior Airport Operations Supervisor in that the incumbent does not have responsibility for managing and planning
airfield support efforts. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of a higher level staff
member. General supervision is exercised over Motor Equipment Operators, Laborers and other staff.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma plus EITHER:
(A) Five (5) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent** experience at an airport certified under Title 14 Code of
Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 139, or a military airport in all of the following: the operation of heavy equipment and
maintenance of grounds, runways, taxiway, ramps and roadways, one (1) year of which must have been in a lead
supervisory capacity,* OR,
(B) Five (5) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent** experience in an airport position responsible for enforcing
policies and procedures necessary for the safe and efficient operation of an airport certified under Title 14 Code of
Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 139 which must include snow removal, ice control, and maintenance activities, one
(1) year of which must have been in a lead supervisory capacity,* OR,
(C) An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.
