Description of Duties
This is an administrative level position responsible for directing the Department of Transportation for Monroe County. This department head is responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of County highways, bridges and traffic controls. The Director also serves as County Superintendent of Highways. General supervision is exercised over engineering and management personnel. The employee reports directly to and works under general direction from the County Executive. Does related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Six (6) years of experience managing transportation or public works projects, three (3) of which include supervision of staff. Possession of a New York State Professional Engineer’s license preferred.
