Senior Child Care Worker

Description of Duties
This is a custodial position responsible for the direction of the supervision, counseling and corrective direction primarily of
adolescent youth (ages ten [10] - eighteen [18]) who reside in the Monroe County Children’s Center (a secure detention
facility), usually by Family Court Order. Duties include transporting of Persons in Need of Supervision (PINS) and Juvenile
Delinquent (JD) youth, as well as participation in the orientation and training of Child Care Workers who work a variety of shifts
and schedules. This position differs from Child Care Worker by virtue of its higher level of responsibility regarding the
supervision and scheduling of staff and assistance to medical staff. The employee reports directly to, and works under the
general supervision of Supervising Child Care Workers or other higher-level administrators. Lead supervision is exercised
over Child Care Workers.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must be permanently employed in the non - competitive class at the Monroe County Department of Human
Services and must have served continuously on a permanent basis for twenty-four (24) months holding the position of
Child Care Worker immediately preceding the date of the written test.
